Superintendent Tom Moore sent out an email to the D219 community on Monday, Oct.9 regarding the weekend attacks on Israel.
“I have been horrified and saddened by the images coming from Israel. I know that our community shares my sympathy for the victims, and my prayers for the safe return of hostages to their families. I also know that for so many in our schools, this will be an especially difficult week, as our students fear for family members and friends, and are fearful of what comes next,” Moore said.
Moore expressed that school counselors and school psychologists will be available as a resource for students to talk to.
Moore also encourages members of the community to reach out to the administration with any questions or concerns.
“In times like this, we must all come together in support of our District 219 family members, especially those who are suffering,” Moore said. “We are committed to the safety and security of all of our students.”
