The Grammy season for 2025 is on the move and the recording academy has just released the nominees for all 94 categories of the 67th Grammy awards, including the big four categories: Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best New Artist. Personally, I don’t think this list is unexpected, and everyone deserved their nomination, with their talent being self-explanatory.
As for who I think should win in each category, there are some standouts this year. For Record Of The Year, the award should go to “Birds of A Feather” by Billie Eilish or “Good Luck, Babe!” by Chappell Roan. Notably, Roan and Sabrina Carpenter are nominated in each big four category, and considering this is their first time being nominated for a Grammy award, it is very impressive. I loved Roan’s album “The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess” and would love to see that win.
For Album Of The Year, there are multiple good picks. Taylor Swift is a shoo-in, but for a good reason. Although this may be an unpopular opinion, I really enjoyed “The Tortured Poets Department”, and wouldn’t be mad to see it win. However, it may be Beyoncé’s year with “Cowboy Carter”, which could very well attract RnB and Country Academy voters.
Song Of The Year should go to Swift’s “Fortnight (featuring Post Malone)”, and although it goes to her pretty much every year, it’s for a good reason as she’s known for her songwriting.
As for Best New Artist, I would usually say Roan, who I think will take home the award, but I really want it to go to RAYE, who I have fallen in love with in the past couple of months.
