The “Wolfpack Gives Back” food drive end date has been extended, and students now have until Tuesday, March 18, to bring in their designated food.
The drive began on Monday, March 10, and was initially meant to end today, March 14. However, due to a low number of donations, the deadline has been extended.
Donations will go directly to the Niles Township Food Pantry, which provides access to food for families throughout the community. In recent months, donations to the pantry have dropped, and Niles West student councils are dedicated to aiding the food pantry
Niles West has a goal of 5,000 items, only two items per student. If successful, the entirety of the school will receive an outdoor movie night in the stadium. Additionally, the class with the highest number of donations will get to pick the movie and will receive ice cream during the movie night, according to an email sent out by director of student activities, Caitlin Lucci.
Initially asking for specific donation items from each grade, student activities will now accept any and all non-perishable items brought in by students, no matter their graduation year. Donation sites are located throughout the school.
