There will be a 90 minute late start on Nov. 10 due to predicted severe weather. A Sunday night email from District 219 was sent to students, staff and families indicating that school will begin at 9:40 a.m. with buses running on the late start schedule.
At the time of publication, a winter storm warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in effect from 9 p.m. tonight to noon tomorrow.
According to an email sent out by Skokie School District 73.5, “Little 9” feeder schools are currently monitoring the forecast and will make a final decision about attending school for their districts by 6 a.m. tomorrow.
Last year on Jan. 21, many expected school to be closed due to subzero temperatures, yet the school stayed open. This time, there will be an adjustment made due to the weather.
According to the email sent out on Nov. 9, the district will continue to monitor conditions.
“If there are further changes that may impact travel safety, D219 will notify students, families and staff before 6:00 a.m. Monday morning,” the email said.
