I walked into this movie thinking, “Well, it looks bad, but how bad can a Katherine Heigl movie be?” This film blows up the bad-movie meter. It’s the iceberg to Heigl’s Titanic of a career. This knock-off of the movie “The Bounty Hunter” (starring Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler) was far worse than the original. For starters, Heigl’s Jersey accent was on and off throughout the whole movie. The plot was very predictable and didn’t make any sense. When Stephanie Plum (Katherine Heigl) lets Joe Morelli (Jason O’Mara) go on several occasions, promising to catch him another time, I couldn’t help but mouth, “Why!? You idiot!”
The basic plot: Plum, an unemployed blue-collar Jersey girl, finds a job working for her cousin as a recovery agent. Her first assignment: to hunt down , Morelli, the high school crush who broke her heart, for $50,000. As this unskilled, former lingerie saleswoman learns the ropes to this new job, she reignites her old love for Morelli as she learns that there’s more behind the former cop’s case than skipping bail.
I wasn’t at all impressed by the movie’s attempt to spark romance, either. Almost every “romantic” scene involved Plum yelling at Morelli with Morelli trying to seduce Plum, then some soft moments, and then back to bickering. You know that there’s a problem when you’re more interested in the main character’s sitcom-family relationship than the relationship with their love interest. Honestly, the most entertaining parts of the movie were the scenes at the dinner table with Plum’s grandma firing a gun at a turkey and sharing her provocative thoughts.
There was also the incorporation of unnecessary characters. As the predictable plot continued, more suspects were added, which added more confusion. It was difficult to keep up with who was who, how they related to each other, and why they were needed in the story. It was all just a mess that could have easily been avoided by NOT adding characters, as their presence didn’t matter in the end.
All in all, this film is just a sad attempt at giving Heigl more screen time. It’s a complete waste of time. I was not at all impressed by Heigl’s role in this movie and will probably never see a movie with this type of romantic-comedy-cop genre ever again. Very disappointing.

One for the Money, sounds like the first reason Katherine Heigl decided to do this movie. If it was titled “One, for the money”.
