The NWN sat down with Boys Tennis head coach Andrew Suarez to talk about the team, the season, and qualifying for state.
NWN: How is the team looking this year?
Suarez: We’re looking pretty good this year, the team is very deep and experienced, we have six returning varsity team members,we also have three solid juniors on the team this year, as well as some talented seniors.
NWN: How will the team do this year/ What are the teams goals?
Suarez: Our goal is always to do as best as we can, a conference title will be difficult this year because our conference is pretty tough. We’d like to qualify a couple of teams for state and hopefully end up about third in conference.
NWN: What are the seasons biggest matchups?
Suarez: We are usually neck and neck with Maine South and Evanston in our conference so those will be pretty big matchups.
NWN: Finally, who are the key team members?
Suarez: The core four key team members are juniors Simon Kim, Robert Marohn, and David Park, and senior leader Ben Kramer.
