In an attempt to educate students on financial aid procedures for college, Niles North will be hosting Financial Aid Night on Monday, Jan. 7 at 6:30 p.m.
Lake Forest College director Jerry Cebrzynski will be present at this event and he will take students and parents through the FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Parents and students will be learn how to fill out the form which will eventually help to get financial aid from college.
“As the eldest child in my family, I have had to figure out the entire college admission process on my own, but the different workshops and information nights provided by the school has definitely made the experience much more manageable. I’ll definitely be attending the Financial Aid Information Night,” senior Lyba Zia said.
College and career counselor Daniel Gin believes that at a time where costs are going up, FAFSA can help a lot.
“By filling out the form, students will be eligible to receive money to use for college. College costs are going up, and this can help ease the financial burden on the family,” Gin said.
