Spanish Honor Society will be hosting a Latin dance class in the South Lobby Wednesday, Dec. 12 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Unless part of Spanish Honor Society, it costs two dollars to attend the dance. A surprise instructor will come in and teach a Latin dance that is similar to Zumba.
“A secret world renowned instructor man of mystery is coming in to teach the students how to dance,” Spanish Honor Society sponsor and Spanish teacher David Malatesta said.
The main purpose of hosting the dance lessons is ” to give kids exposure to different cultural practices, to show students that movement with music can be exhilarating and to have fun,” Malatesta said.
This is the fourth year that Spanish Honor Society has been hosing the Latin dancing.
” I didn’t go last year, but people said it was a lot of fun, so I look forward to it!” senior Spanish Honor Society president Alison Stangel said.
“I went to the event last year, and I know a lot of people learned a lot. You get to dance with your friends and your teachers, so I definitely recommend going to it,” junior Crystal Dominguez said.
