All after-school activities — including clubs, sports, and practices — are cancelled today due to the snow storm that has hit the Midwest, according to assistant principal Kendall Griffin.
Griffin made an announcement during the beginning of 8th period informing all students and staff about the sudden cancellations. He said superintendent Nanciann Gatta made the decision.
“I would assume that it’s because of traffic, the dangers of being outside, and the fact that’s it’s getting worse as the day goes on,” he said.
Griffin said students should monitor the school’s website for further information about tomorrow’s classes.
Student said they were happy about the cancellations.
“I screamed in relief because I really need a break from school including work-outs, but I want school tomorrow because we’ll have to make it up at the end of the year. I just want a late start,” freshman Dominique Krason said.
The athletic directors will contact individual coaches if there are any exceptions due to an athletic competition, Griffin said.
