In order to give seniors an opportunity to literally leave their mark at Niles West, the senior hand painting will take place in the cafeteria tomorrow after school.
As we come closer and closer to the end of the year, more events are approaching that remind the seniors that the end is approaching.
“There is a $3 required donation, and the money collected will be donated to Dance Marathon,” senior cabinet sponsor Laurie Shapiro said.
As far as how the seniors plan on reaching the ceiling to leave their mark on Niles West, there is an organized way to go about this.
“Students will dip their hand in paint, get up on a ladder and put their hand print up on there,”
secretary Patty Ference said.
It’s a tedious process, but the outcome is well worth the work. The seniors will leave a part of themselves in Niles West, and will carry this memory forever.
“I’ve been the senior cabinet for four years, and we have never had to paint over any hand prints so far,” Shapiro said.
Niles West will keep this tradition going, and metaphorically speaking, will never run out of room for their seniors.

I really wanted to be a part of this but nobody told me about the $3 fee until it happened and I didn’t bring any money 🙁
