Niles West Band teacher Justin Johnson is scheduled to host. “Just for The Fun of It” Jazz Night on April 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria for anyone interested in listening to some jazz entertainment or taking some classes.
The annual Jazz Night this year will have three feeder’s school (Culver, Fairview, and Lincoln Hall) come in and perform, as well as a famous professional quartet. This is open to anyone who is interested. Master classes will be available before performances.
The event has been happening in past years, and he thinks it is a great way to help the students from junior high schools transition to high school.
“[Jazz night] gives education to the middle schools interested in the jazz band and let’s them experience an actual performance in front of people,” Johnson said.
This is a free event that invites anyone, and it’s a fun night to relax while listening to some jazz music.
