NWN interviewed seniors Ankush Verma and Sameera Khan about their Indian and Pakistani Cultures.
Q. What are you most proud of about your culture?
A. Everything about our culture makes us proud. India and Pakistan are culture rich countries. With a vast amount of languages and religions, India and Pakistan are very diverse.
Q. What is your least favorite thing about your culture?
A. People from both India and Pakistan are slowly losing their morals that made us into the people that we are.
Q. What is your favorite meal?
A. Palak Paneer (cheese and spinach entree), Biryani (season flavored rice with either goat meat or chicken), and Mong Lassi (a tasty drink)
Q. What is the most important holiday?
A. For Muslims it would be Eid, and for Hindus it would be Diwali.
Q. What is the most common misconception (stereotype) about your culture?
A. The most common misconception associated with our countries is that the vast majority of the people are poor. However, the latter of the people tend to do well.
