The Spring Assembly is today, and one of the most exciting performers have been rehearsing since the beginning of March for this event. Break Beatz have yet another astonishing performance stored for Niles West for this year’s assembly, practiced daily by its multiple hardworking members.
The Student Commons is set like a stage, all furniture pushed aside as dancers run through the routine with or without music, perfecting every single move. They work hard for an excellent result, but the excitement of performing pays off.
“[The members] started rehearsing two weeks before spring break,” sponsor Phyllis Coleman said. “They’re gonna go out there and show how much fun it is to be in the club and do what they do and enjoy themselves.”
Not only are the members excited to perform, but the crowd is excited to see what they have in store.
“[Break Beats] [is] so much fun,” senior Mary Mando said. “They’re one of the most exciting parts of the assembly. They’re so entertaining.”
“I can’t wait to see Break Beatz,” junior Maria Sarantopoulos said. “They’re always really fun because dancing is just fun to watch. Especially good dancing.”
“They won’t be a disappointment,” promises Coleman.
Break Beatz meets after school in the Student Commons. Anyone can join.
