Job Shadow and Career Exploration days are Thursday, Oct. 24 and Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Students typically shadow people during the school day between three to seven hours.
“To be successful after high school, our students must be prepared for the ever-increasing demands of college and the workplace,” Edelson said.
Sophomore Maryann Tamo says job shadowing helps students find out what they want to pursue in the future.
“By job shadowing students will see a bunch of opportunities and they can decide whether they are willing to put the time and effort to the job they believe they want or not,” Tamo said.
Junior Kurtis Hummel agrees with Tamo.
“It’s a good way for someone to gain experience and information about a job before making a decision,” he said. “It can show someone what it would be like to have the job so they can better determine if they would enjoy it,” said Hummel.
An alternate date can be made that fits the student’s or business person’s schedule up until December 13, 2013
