In an effort to give more opportunities to students, a volunteer fair will be held tomorrow outside of the cafeteria during lunch periods.
The event is an opportunity for Niles West students to meet volunteer agencies in this region. Some of the agencies that will be attending are the Niles Township Food Pantry, Wright Way Rescue, and the American Cancer Society. They get the chance to ask questions and find out whatever interests them about the agency’s volunteer opportunities.
“My favorite part of the event is watching kids get excited to make a difference. It’s very empowering,” member of the School Improvement Committee and Student Activities Director Jessica Pritzker said.
Senior Sareena Ali believes that this is a great idea.
“It [the volunteer fair] is a great idea. Volunteering is something that every student should engage in. The fair will show us the opportunities we have,” Ali said.
