After the winter choir and orchestra concerts, the band will be ending the season with a concert under the direction of Justin Johnson tonight in the auditorium at 7 p.m.
The concert band, symphonic band, and symphonic winds will be performing at their winter concert.
“We have been practicing this music for a long time and we have worked really hard. One of our pieces is a march that consists of 3 movements, and each movement has its own uniqueness,” symphonic winds player, Sophia Agos said.
The concert band will be performing a Christmas Auld Lang Syne, and a Canto, similar to a Japanese folk song. The symphonic band will be presenting two winter songs; Dinosaurs, and Bloom. There will also be a Percussion Ensemble putting on their version of “Deck the Halls.”
Fine Arts director, Jason Brown speaks highly of the band and all their accomplishments this year. “The band is off to a very good start.
Many students were chosen to perform with our district band. Jesse Sacks made it to state, and several students were chosen for North Shore Honors Band Festival, and got first place in several categories. I’m very pleased with their accomplishments,” Brown said.
