D219 has cancelled school for Niles West, Niles North, and Niles Central High School tomorrow due to the weather inclement.
According to an email sent by Principal Dr. Jason Ness, students can check the school’s website for information regarding after school sports and activities.
As reported by the Yahoo Skokie Weather Forecast, tomorrow will have a high of -2 degrees and a low of -18 degrees.
“I personally love the idea just because it’s an extra day off after the weekend,” senior Tiffany Alvarado said. “It definitely makes me happy because I get to catch up on school work and also college stuff like the FAFSA and scholarship stuff. It’s definitely the best year to be a senior because we won’t have to make it up- at least I hope not.”
Junior Hasan Bhujwala said he doesn’t mind making up the day at the end of the year.
“I love the fact that we won’t have school tomorrow,” he said. “It gives me an extra day to procrastinate. I don’t really mind making it up at the end of the year.”
Junior Sabreen Ali agrees with Bhujwala.
“I’m happy about it,” she said. “At the end of the year we don’t really do much in school so I’d rather make it up then than be in school now.”
A confirmation about the cancellation has been sent to students’ district emails, is on the district website, and is left on the home answering machines.
