The Council for Exceptional Children will hosts its annual basketball scrimmage at Niles North on Monday, Feb. 3rd and 7:oo p.m.
Niles West students will be playing against North students. Another basketball tournament will also take place on Saturday, Feb. 22nd at 10:00 at Maine West High School.
“The scrimmage and tournament (actually the entire season) benefits all involved students – from the C.E.C. club officers and club members to the students spending hours practicing basketball and the coaches. Students should attend because it’s fun to cheer on each others achievements and hard work. It’s fun to be involved in others’ accomplishments,” member of the Niles West special education department, Mary Jo Schnabel said.
Students believe this is a good idea.
“It if was nearby, I would go. It’s a good idea,” junior Nicole Hanusiak said.
“I would go to support them; [I think] it’s a nice deal,” junior Amelia Banini said.
