The National Honor Society will host its annual blood drive today from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Student Commons.
In an email from counselor Stephanie Lau, she says that according to the American Red Cross, the weather caused many planned blood drives to be cancelled leading to 13,500 uncollected units of blood.
“I actually read somewhere that every 3 seconds, someone needs a blood transfusion. Since donating blood is completely safe, its important that we give back to those who need it. A pint of blood saves 3 lives. There’s no better feeling then that,” senior and president of National Honor Society Jayna Shah said.
Junior Khadija Manzoor also believes that donating blood can help those in need.
“It’s a good idea because you are donating blood to people who are in need for it and it will also help save lives,” Manzoor said.
