A memorial fund has been created in order to assist the Varughese family investigate the reasons for Pravin’s disappearance and death.
“I think [people] should donate because with the range of feelings that family is going through, money is the littlest thing someone can offer if they can’t offer time and support. It just eases their mind a little at least off of basic needs so they can have more energy and time to spend with family and friends helping them recover,” senior Sharon Mathew said.
According to the Justice for Pravin website, all remaining funds will be used for prevention and awareness efforts.
Many students believe that donating will help further the investigation process.
“The money can also go towards helping them further the investigation and reach justice, which they shouldn’t have to pay so much for in the first place,” Mathew said.
“He was really well known in the community and there’s just so many clues that haven’t been put out there. I feel like people donating money it will just raise more awareness and help in the investigation,” senior Deepa Pardiwala said.
Senior Nate Lee believes that donating is a good cause because Pravin was a member of the community.
“Yeah, I think it’s a good cause because he’s a member of the community. But whether or not he was a member of the community, I think mysterious deaths like that always make you try to find out what’s going on,” Lee said.
