The boys varsity volleyball team improved to a record of 7-1 on Tuesday, Apr. 8 as they took down rival Niles North with ease, winning the first two sets of a best of three match with scores of 25-16 and 25-14, respectively.
The boys also have a win under their belt this season against Maine West, and won the Maine East tournament on Saturday, Mar. 29. The boys will look to ride the momentum of two convincing wins tomorrow and a tournament championship as they travel to Maine East to battle the Blue Demons. The match starts at 6:00 pm.
Senior team member Colin Wong said he thought the win was a good morale-booster, coming after a loss to Loyola the previous game.
“I thought the win yesterday was a good step forward in our season,” he said. “Overall right now we are 7-1. It was a good comeback after that big loss against Loyola, it definitely picked our spirits up.”
