The annual Pasta n’ Pops concert featuring Niles West’s band, jazz band, choir, and orchestra, was held this past Saturday in the gymnasium at 6 p.m.
“This is the most well attended music event of the year. Parents and family members come together to recognize the real talent that our students have,” music parent Katina Agos said.
Every year, tickets have sold out and the event has been well promoted.
Performances included:
Choir: “Paramore Melody,” “Drops of Jupiter,” “Hello goodbye,” ” Someplace Only We Know,” and “Best Day of My Life.”
The Orchestras: “Star Wars,” “Orange Jam,” “A Hectic Overture,” “All I Ask of You,” and “Ludlows.”
The band and jazz band also performed. Graziano’s catered the food, and homemade desserts were provided from the students’ families.
“It’s always a lot of fun when all the music departments come together and we get to see what they perform. It’s especially bittersweet for us seniors. It’s our last concert and our last memory of music at Niles West,”senior Tina Kim said.
Students were very pleased with the performance and proud of their fellow musicians.
“We played great and the parents and families loved it. It was one of our best performances,” said cello player Sahar Jiwani.
