No matter which turtle you chose to like, director Jonathan Liebesman creates an exciting plot to display the perfectly animated, life-like, turtles in this new action packed family film. Driven by crime and motivated through combat, Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo and Leonardo strive for the permission of their master, Splinter (Danny Woodburn). In a life revolved around martial arts, the four teenage turtles show their excellence in karate and brilliant kungfu-like knowledge while fighting crime around New York City.
Similar to the shows once aired on television years ago, the story of four lab turtles that were genetically mutated is told through young reporter, April O’neil’s, eyes. April, played by Megan Fox, runs desperately around New York City trying to find her next big story. She soon discovers a few talking turtles that fight crime. Her surprise leads her to believe in things that not many other people would take seriously, including her boss. April battles her way through her next big story to soon discover that what she had been investigating was a mystery she had already solved.
In the world of the teenage mutant ninja turtle’s, life is not an ordinary stroll through the park. Entailing the conflicts and involving all of the movie’s humor, I have got to say that the movie does a good job of keeping you entertained. Each turtle has there own role in the movie, showing the audience a great deal of intelligence, strength and power.
Will Arnett plays Vernon Fenwick, a driver for the local news company who helps a great deal with driving April and the turtles where they need to be. All six of them do great things to save the city from the destruction it was facing while including humor and drama in all the appropriate places. Director Liebesman throws character into all of the roles in order to keep the audience interested. Suiting the turtles well, April and Vernon help in all ways possible to not only save the city of New York, but to save the ones they love.
TMNT is a joy for all families to watch. Being funny, action packed, and appropriate for the kids, I highly recommend watching this movie.
3/5 Stars.
