Niles West’s Theatre department will hold auditions and clinics, in the Blackbox Theatre, for ‘Shrek: The Musical’ . Because the play requires so many actors and ensemble members, they are hoping for a big turnout at auditions.
There will be two clinics held before the audition process begins. The first takes place on Tuesday, Mar. 10 from 3:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. and the second on Friday, Mar. 13 from 3:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. Songs and dances will be taught at both clinics. It is recommended that students interested in being a part of the production attend both days of training, although it is not a requirement to audition.
Auditions and crew interviews will be held Monday, March 16 at 3:30 P.M. Callbacks will be Tuesday, March 17. All of the events will take place in the Blackbox Theatre.
Students who are involved with the theatre program are hoping for a lot of students to audition for the upcoming musical.
“We’re hoping to see a huge crowd at auditions because it’s our biggest show of the year,” junior Elisabeth Schapmann said. “Even if you don’t think you can sing, dance, or act, you should still be a part of the production. Shrek is such a fun, crazy show.”
