Senior hand painting will occur in the cafeteria tomorrow, Wednesday, Apr. 15, between 3 and 4:30 pm. Seniors each year have a section in the cafeteria where their hand prints will placed.
Many people have seen the hand prints all over the cafeteria and have been excited to do the same.
“People should sign up for hand painting because it’s a senior legacy, it’s left by the seniors and it’s a great memory to have. I know walking into school and seeing the senior hand prints as a freshman made me look forward to one day have my own up there, and I know other people have felt that way too. Here’s their chance!” senior Rita Carmona said.
Many seniors are excited to finally be a part of the tradition.
“I think that the senior hand prints are something cool that our school does because sitting in the cafeteria I see the hand prints of students who have been in the same spot as me so many years ago. It puts time into perspective for me,”senior Resi Skendo said.
It costs $3 in order to do the hand painting; all the proceeds are donated to Dance Marathon.
“The money goes to DM and our charity this year is the Daniel M. Horyn foundation. One of the teachers at North died last year of esophageal cancer and this charity is dedicated to finding a cure. It’s not too late to join and help us raise more money,” Carmona added.
