Niles West will be hosting open house tonight at 6 p.m. Parents will get a chance to follow their students individual schedules and spend time with all of their teachers.
The hopes for this open house is to get parents in the door and get to know our daily routine in a more informal setting than parent teacher conferences.
“I think its good for parents to know where their kids are spending eight hours a day and who they’re with, parent teacher conferences are more for one-on-one time to talk specifically, so open house is to get a general sense of what the class is and what they’re going to be doing,” assistant principal Mark Rigby said.
Some parents find that coming to open house is an important step in becoming involved at the school.
“My parents are coming to open house because they feel it’s important that they know my teachers and what I’m going to be doing while I’m in school . They get a sense that they are more connected to my education that way,” senior Merisa Gredelj said.
Talk to your parents about coming to open house so they can get to know your teachers and understand your daily routine as a student here at Niles West.
