The boys varsity soccer team will take on Niles North at Toyota Park starting at 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10.
“We’ve been training hard and everything is falling into place. At the moment I see us winning the trophy and bringing it back to where it belongs. We’ve been thinking about this game since the beginning of summer camp, it’s a must win for us. Niles North has a solid defense and a good midfield but overall I think we’re a better team. It should be a real thrilling game to watch,”midfield Georgi Spasov said.
Not only are the boys confident about their skills but they’re predicting a win against North.
Left wing/left full back Alen Radelijc said, “We’re all really excited to be playing against Niles North with the success we’ve been having this season. I’m nervous and excited at the same time.”
“Last season we didn’t get the result we wanted so we’re on a mission to get what we lost last year, the Traveling Trophy. Last year I was out with a thigh injury so I missed out on that game so it will be my first time on the varsity level that I’ll be able to go up against them. We are definitely ready for this game. We have had this game circled on our calendar for the whole season. Last years result left a bad taste in our mouths and the players returning from last years team have been waiting ever since to play them again. The players on this team know what it takes to win big games. We were born ready. North has four wins this season which is a respectable number. They are a fast team that can move the ball well around the field,” senior center back Mario Kosir said.
A fan bus will leave from Niles West at 10 a.m. and tickets will be $10 at the door.
