If you’re one of the 40 million people in the United States that is subscribed to Netflix, you have probably slowly become a “binge watcher” as the majority of us have. However, as the addiction grows stronger, eventually you are bound to run out of options of what to watch. Here are 10 television series that in my mind, are must-sees.
1. One Tree Hill: It doesn’t matter how old you are, what interests you have, or even if you’re a girl or a boy, everyone can find something to relate to and love in this show. One Tree Hill follows the lives of high school students from Tree Hill, a small but eventful town that revolves around their winning high school basketball team.
2. Lost: After a commercial passenger plane crashes on a mysterious tropical island somewhere in the South Pacific, the survivors learn how to live with the lack of essentials and all of the dangers that come from the island. With many unexpected obstacles along the way, they must learn to live together so they don’t die alone.
3. Gossip Girl: This show gives viewers the inside scoop on the lives of up-scale New York’s high school students from an anonymous blogger, “Gossip Girl.” Full of drama, love, privilege, and mysteries, you can get a taste of what it’s like to grow up on the Upper East side.
4. Friends: Friends is a comedy series based in Manhattan about a group of six friends who deal with their daily agendas alongside one another. As relatable as this show can be, it will no doubt put you on an emotional roller coaster whether you’re laughing, crying, or pushing for a certain couple.
5. Prison Break: Lincoln Burrows is on death row just weeks away from being executed after being framed for a homicide. However, his structural engineer brother then deliberately gets thrown into the same penitentiary on a mission to break them both out from the inside. Along the way, friendships are built, family secrets are exposed, and love is sparked.
6. Grey’s Anatomy: Seattle Grace is a teaching hospital in Seattle, Washington which becomes home to many residents, nurses, attendings, who live to save their patient’s lives. Working long hours day to day, unbreakable friendships and relationships bond.
7. Hawaii 5-0: 5-0 is a team of special agents who deal with the crimes in all of Hawaii. Their team has no government restrictions and are given the authority to do as they please, no matter how unlawful it may be. Each agent develops a special bond with one another on and off the job.
8. The Office: Your “typical office workers” go through day-to-day problems, drama, and even some inappropriate behavior that will have you laughing during the whole series.
9. Breaking Bad: Walter White is a high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with lung cancer shortly after his 50th birthday. To try and support his family, he recruits an old student, Jesse Pinkman, to begin an illegal franchise selling meth.
10. How I Met Your Mother: “How I Met Your Mother” is an elaborated story about how Ted met his wife told to his children years later as a grown adult.
