Returns for all student textbooks will begin in the cafeteria starting on Tuesday, May 24 at 7:30 a.m. Students have all of finals week to return their books; the deadline for all textbooks is Thursday, May 26 at 12:30 p.m., the last day of school.
“To avoid long lines on the last day of school, we encourage you to return your books starting May 24th in the Student Cafe; however, please retain books needed for finals, then return them,” textbook manager Sandra Weinketz said.
Students are financially responsible for all missing and late books. If they do not clean out their lockers and return their books by the deadline on May 26, they will be fined $3.00 per book.
Books that were borrowed from the textbook center may not be included on the lists passed out in homeroom, but students are still expected to turn them in on time.
“Focusing on the positive, textbook pick-up for current students or graduates requires students to have cleared their fines. If students address their books now, it makes it easier for them later since they hopefully will not incur fines. If they do, they will have plenty of time to address the fines. Payment can be made by the textbook center, bookkeeper, or online,” Weinketz said.
