The boys varsity soccer team will be playing their rivals at Niles North, starting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
Senior co-captain Georgi Spasov loves playing this game in particular.
“Seeing all the fans there, making West proud, and playing in the derby itself is an insane feeling. What’s exciting to see is all the support from everyone and the intensity of the game rising as time goes on,” Spasov said.
First year varsity player Daniel Radeljic thinks that this will be a really good game to play in.
“We look forward to every game, but especially against Niles North because they are our rivals and we know it will be a great game. The most exciting thing is probably the amount of pressure that goes into this game,” Radeljic said.
The team has been doing a lot in order to prepare for such an exciting game.
“We have been training hard, working on our tactics, as well as team bonding on and off the field. We fully believe, 100 percent that we will win this game. We have some very good players on our team, and once we play as a team, we know that we can beat anyone,” Radeljic said.
Senior co-caption Laith Zaibal thinks the team is ready to take home the win.
“I believe we will win; we came a long way since our first game and we improved greatly,” Zaibal said. “I also think we are a better team than them. We’re looking forward to winning and getting the trophy back where it belongs, because we deserve it.”
Wish the boys luck and come support them in the stands as they take on Niles North tomorrow night.
