Starting with the 2016-17 yearbook, every senior will have the option to put an appropriate quote to go underneath his or her yearbook picture; however, this can only happen if at least 80 percent of the seniors submit quotes, according to yearbook sponsor Sharon Swanson.
“If not enough seniors submit quotes, we won’t be able to publish them, because it affects our page layout and design,” Swanson said.
Editor in chief Alex Mancini encourages seniors to submit quotes.
“I think it’s good that senior quotes are now in the yearbook because before it was only in the supplement. I think this is better because now a broader audience gets to see your quote,” Mancini said.
Many seniors said they are excited about the opportunity to include a senior quote.
“It’s amazing, I like it. It’s a good way to show your profile. It’s important to put a quote because you can look back at your senior year and see what it truly was about, ” senior Marco Cajamarca said.
Seniors have until Monday, Nov. 14 get their quotes sent in by filling out the Google form sent via email from the Spectrum staff. More information has been shared on the Niles West Yearbook Facebook page.
