The first Reading Hour of the school year is scheduled for this Thursday, Sept. 8 at 7:15 a.m. in room 2040 hosted by Andew Jeter, Literacy Center coordinator.
Reading Hour is held every other Thursday, and a different Niles West teacher or administrator reads a book or story at every meeting.
Sponsor and English teacher Lia Sosa mentioned planning on rewarding participants with prizes.
“The Chipotle gift cards were very successful last year, so we do plan on keeping those for this year as well. Perhaps there will be other surprises along the way too,” wrote Sosa in an email.
Bagels and juice will be served at 7:15. English teacher and NWN adviser Evelyn Lauer will be reading her own poetry at the Reading Hour scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 22.
