Football season kicked into gear on Monday, August 6 and the Wolves are hungrier than ever for the upcoming season. They have been practicing hard for the opening game, and everyone on the team is hyped and beyond ready for their first game against De La Salle.

Coach Jesse Pierce is ready to tackle the season after coming off of a very productive summer.

“First of all we’re very excited, I think this season should be a season with many improvements. I am very happy with how we worked over the summer and I’m really looking forward to the season,” Pierce said.

Running-back and senior John Trinh notes the hardwork the team has been putting in, in hopes of making playoffs this year.

“I think we’re very well prepared we’ve been all working together and ready to take on the season,” Trinh said. “We have been lifting and grinding all summer long and are hoping to make the playoffs this year.”

Even though they’re all ready for the season, right now the team’s focus is on week one and taking down De La Salle High School for their first game.

“Right now I’m really focused on week one and only week one, we want to go 1-0,” Pierce said.

Everyone is ready for the upcoming season, but the game that the game they are most excited for is against their rivals, Niles North.

“I’m most excited to play against Niles North, of course those are my guys over there and I can’t wait to fuel the rivalry again,” Trinh said.

Quarterback and junior Jack Lochner is also most looking forward to their rival game.

“Of course I’m most excited for the game against North. I think this year we’ll beat them again and keep the rivalry going,” Lochner said.

This year is set to be a great one for the Wolves and everyone is prepared for it. The opening game is next Friday, Aug. 24th with kickoff at 7:00 P.M. against De La Salle High School.
