The annual activities fair is scheduled to start today and continue throughout the week in the hallway outside the cafeteria, where international, educational, and entertainment clubs present information for interested students.
There will be tables set up with representatives of the clubs, waiting to meet new students who might want to join their club.
“”[Niles West] has over 70 clubs, and 40 or more will attend,” says director of student activities Jessica Ogulnik.
Every year, students visit the fair and explore the different clubs that Niles West has.
“[Students should go], so they can find out which clubs they’re interested in and to find their nitch in Niles West,” says Ogulnik.
“It’s a great way to connect with the school and meet other students with similar interests,” says teacher’s assistant Vasilios Papaioannou.
Many students report that fitting in with a club is very important for one’s high school career, and the activities fair will definitely point you to the right club.
“Being part of a club is an enjoyable experience, and if it wasn’t for [the activities fair] I would have never joined the clubs I attend,” says junior Mary Mando.
“I enjoy [the fair] and recommend it, because students learn about clubs that they didn’t even know existed and may like to join,” says senior Eleni Papasotiriou.
