Due to a system issue, Niles West’s grade-checking system, Pinnacle Internet Viewer (PIV), was shut down for almost a week.
The reason PIV was shut down, according to Guy Ballard, Chief Technology Officer of District 219, was because of a system issue.
“PIV has been turned off for the past few days in order to resolve a system login/access issue,” said Ballard in an e-mail sent Oct. 11.
In the same e-mail, Ballard expected the issue to be fixed soon, saying, “We expect to apply a software update early this week, and restore access at that time.”
PIV was restored the morning of Oct. 12.
As to PIV being put back up, students have been relieved.
“It was annoying not being able to look at my grades,” said senior Danielle Klemens.
