The first Niles West Fall Band Concert of the year was held Thursday, Oct. 20. Students had been practicing their pieces since the beginning of the school year.
There were no featured soloists, and there wasn’t a set theme for the concert. Many songs, however, fell into a certain category.
“There were a lot of songs from movies,” said senior and clarinet player Tracy Hanaoka. “We played some songs from Disney movies, like ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ ‘The Little Mermaid,’ and ‘The Lion King.'”
A lot of preparation went into the concert, according to Band Director William Koch, who described himself as having been “[very] busy preparing for the concert.”
