Varsity football player and junior Aahil Khan isn’t just your normal student-athlete as he brings so much more than just his game and has made a huge impact on the football field this season.
Khan has been playing football for West since he was a freshman, and has improved since then. Head Coach for Varsity Football, Nick Torresso, feels Khan has grown as a player.
“When I first met Aahil as a freshman, he was relatively quiet. I don’t think he realized how athletic he actually was. Towards the end of his freshman year, he started to show his personality more. He’s an all-around amazing player. He has great hands and is extremely agile. He does everything we ask him to do and is an overall amazing teammate,” Torresso said.
As Khan got older and started to build relationships with his teammates, he made a big impact on some of them. Junior, Christian Guzman, has become a close friend of Khan through playing football together.
“As a player, he’s a great route runner and teammate. Off the field, he’s a great friend. I can rely on him to be there when I need him,” Guzman said.
Senior, Jason Fowler also appreciates how dedicated Khan is to the team.
“As a player, he’s very hardworking. He overcame a season-ending injury and came back the next year better. He always does his best for the team no matter what. He’s a selfless teammate and you never have to worry about him giving his best effort,” Fowler said.
Khan doesn’t just bring amazing plays to the field but also brings enthusiasm and amazing dance moves. On his Tiktok account, @.aahil0, it shows videos of him dancing on the field and also, with his teammates. Khan talks more about his energy on the field.
“I’m a really fun guy once you get to know me. I just dance in the moment. It’s all just to have fun. When I dance, my teammates join in too. I guess you can say my dance moves are contagious,” Khan said.
Toresso also feels Khan has made a positive impact on the team.
“Aahil is always the first one to dance in the weight room or on the field. I would say he’s one of the top two dancers on the team. His energy and dance moves are definitely contagious. He’s someone on the team that is well respected, so when he is having fun other guys jump in and have fun with him,” Torresso said.
As Khan continues his football season, you may catch him having a little dance session with his teammates.
