Editor’s Note: This is the seventh in a series of 19 stories about last semester’s Principal’s Recognition Award winners who were recognized on Wednesday, Dec. 2 for outstanding achievement in specific programs. Senior Ahsan Lodhika received the Business Department Award and was nominated by Mrs. Jean Attig.
Some may know senior Ahsan Lodhika as the quiet kid in the back of the class, but others may know him as a DECA executive. Lodhika has taken every business class Niles West has to offer and has put in tons of work in and out of the classroom. He has acquired quite the resume through all of his prestigious accomplishments. Currently, Lodhika holds the position of Decalicious manager and the DECA treasurer.
“Ahsan has gotten involved with the DECA program, where he is a leader in that program. He holds the position of treasurer, so he handles all of our money. He has been successful in all of the competitions and qualified for Nationals last year. He has helped recruit and inform other students about the program and the classes. He has been an instrumental part of our program for the past four years as a student and as a leader,” DECA advisor Eric Lueder said.
Lodhika was humbled by the award and was very excited to receive such a great honor.
“The award means to me as an appreciation for all the hard work I have done all year. It means a lot to me to have people recognize what I have been doing all year. I would like to thank my [Applied Science] teacher Ms. [Jean] Attig for getting me involved with Decalicious, and getting me into business, Mr. Lueder for getting me into investing freshman year and accounting sophomore year. He was the one who recommended me to become the manager of Decalicious, which is probably the best decision I could have made,” Lodhika said, reflecting on receiving the award.
Lodhika has big plans for the future. He intends on majoring in accounting and is striving to become a Certified Public Accountant. Although he does not know where he will be attending college yet, but nonetheless, the future looks bright for business expert Ahsan Lodhika.

What is a chief public accountant? Do you mean certified? Do your job, that might include a little research. A couple of grammatical errors as well. Who edits theses things?

Lol, who wrote this. What is a chief public accountant? Try certified. Try researching a little more, or maybe proof read?
