Editor’s note: This is the second in a series of four news stories that look into the annual review of programs.
Another topic to be discussed at the Town Hall Meeting in November at Niles North will be parent and student surveys.
District 219 is accepting comments and suggestions from students, parents, teachers, staff, and community members about the 2014-15 Annual Review of Programs. These surveys would provide information to help the administration and faculty validate its courses and programs.
“The district believes surveys would be a valuable opportunity for students and their parents to provide feedback about D219 classes and programs, and for teachers to get helpful feedback about their classes from students. This item is on the annual review so teachers and students have a chance to provide their comments and suggestions,” said community relations director Jim Szczepaniak.
Sophmore Maryann Tamo thinks the surveys are a good idea.
“I think it’s very smart to involve our parents into our school curriculum, especially because some parents may not have time to involve themselves with what their kids do. Also, it will help the teachers make the right improvements in the class,” Tamo said.
