It is that time of year again; finals, summer break, and the Relay for Life fundraiser.
Relay for Life is an event hosted by the American Cancer Society that consists of a 12-hour non-stop walk around the track that raises money for cancer funds and awareness, according to the Relay for Life website and BAC Supervisor and Co-sponsor of Relay for Life at Niles West Rich Costante.
Sophomore Kimmee Villanueva is looking forward to Relay.
“[I’m excited about] staying up all night playing volleyball and other sports and walking around the track,” she said.
Relay will be hosted in Basrak Field on June 10 from 6 pm to 6 am. Doors open at 4 pm for teams to start setting up.
Last year, more than $94,000 were raised and donated to the ACS. The goal for this year is $100,000.
Five hundred to 700 people are expected to attend.
