A tentative agreement between the teachers and support staff unions and the school board was reached early this morning, halting rumors of a possible strike, according to a joint statement released by both unions and district 219.
Teachers and staff members will meet today after school to ratify the new contract. Once the contracts are ratified, the teachers and staff will not strike. The school board will vote on ratification on Monday, Sept. 24 at their regularly scheduled meeting.
Details of the contracts are still private but will be released soon.
Negotiations have been going on since March.
