Senior swimmer Ryan Miller won last week’s Niles Patch athlete of the week after finishing first in the 100 butterfly and third in the 200 individual medley at the Buffalo Grove Invitational meet, with times of 54.63 seconds and 2 minutes 6.85 seconds, respectively.
Miller recieved 39,586 votes, about 55% of over 71,000 votes cast.
Sophomore Dashae Shumate, a starter on the varsity girls basketball team, is up for Niles Patch athlete of the week this week. Shumate scored 12 points in last Friday’s game against division foe Maine South, including the game winning layup as time expired. The bucket gave the Wolves the win, and moved the ladies into first place in the division.
