The Morton Grove Public Library is currently in the race for the Playaway Picture This contest, a nationwide library competition based on community votes with grand prize of $10,000.

Playaway is an audiobook company, and the theme for the contest is different ways to use audiobooks. The Morton Grove Public Library set up scenes depicting the various ways and places audiobooks can be used.
“We borrowed manikins and dressed them up,” said Young Adult Services librarian Jill Wehrheim.
If the Morton Grove Public Library wins, they will spend the money on improving the teen area.
“We are going to try to get more space, more shelving, a big screen TV, new carpet, gaming consoles, and soundproof material to make it more quiet,” said Wehrheim.
Out of hundreds of submissions, Morton Grove’s library is one of ten libraries still in the race for the 10 grand.
