“Pretty Little Liars” and Mona 2.0 Returns

Pretty+Little+Liars+and+Mona+2.0+Returns

Brace yourself now, PLL’ers. Spoilers ahead. Tuesday night, on ABC Family, the winter premiere of the hit show “Pretty Little Liars” returned with a bang……and a flame.

Exposed conspirator “A,” Mona (Janel Parrish) has returned to the halls of Rosewood High after a seven-month stint in a mental institution. She is all bows and smiles, trying to explain that she has changed and turned over a new leaf. While this puts the entire student body on edge, two new members of the staff with a long history with the girls and their secrets rock the Liars to their cores.

The Halloween episode left us with a lot of clues and exposed many secrets. Aria’s dad was in cahoots with Allie (blackmail, maybe?) and is supposedly, according to the now dead Garrett, the last person to have seen her alive. Someone was on the train that night,  in a doll mask, with a vendetta against the girls while a little girl, cold as ice, showed up at Hanna’s house.

All of the couples are also starting to feel the sting.  Ezria (Ezra and Aria’s couple name), the forbidden teacher-student romance, should be smooth sailing now that their romance has been exposed and he no teaches her but the cloud of “you have a child that I know about but didn’t tell you about” has been hanging over Aria’s head. Ever since the big Toby reveal  before the fall hiatus, all scenes with Spoby (Spencer and Toby) seemed tense. Toby’s brooding and mysterious gaze now held a lot of hostility, especially towards his distant girlfriend. After being attacked by “Nate” in the lighthouse, Emily’s parents have had her on lock-down, and she hasn’t seem much of Paige.

I’ve made lists. I’ve re-watched episodes for clues. I’ve spent hours on the Internet Google searching A-theories.     I’ve got my suspects down. But we’ll have to wait until 7 o’clock next Tuesday to find out.
