In an effort to inform the incoming freshmen on which electives, clubs, and sports are offered at West, Niles West hosted its annual Curriculum and Activities night on Wednesday, Feb. 6.
This year, the activities fair was held in the fieldhouse, as opposed to the original venue of the contest gym, which provided a larger area for the clubs and activities to occupy, as well as an easier way to visit display tables.
“I like the activities fair because it gets me ready for high school,” said incoming freshman Kayla Brill, who currently attends Fairview South Junior High.
Weronika Jozwiak, an eighth grader from Lincoln Hall, also reacted positively toward the activities fair.
“This is pretty cool, and it’s actually kinda nice,” she said.
A few current students even felt that the activities night served a greater purpose than just informing incoming students on what clubs are sponsored.
“Activities night is a great idea, and I like it because I get to meet eighth graders that will come to West,” sophomore Theo Beck said.
