Q & A with Korean Club

NWN interviewed senior David Park, the president of Korean club, about his Korean culture.

Q. What are you most proud of about your culture?

A. The language.

Q. What is your least favorite thing about your culture?

A. It’s hard to say…nothing really.

Q. What is your favorite meal?

A. Rice…or Kimchi Bulogogi that’s like spicy vegetables and beef with sauce.

Q. What is the most common misconception (stereotype) about your culture?

A.  That we’re good at math, but not everyone is.

    Q. What are you most proud of about your culture?

    A. Going through the Genocide and becoming even stronger today.

    Q. What is your least favorite thing about your culture?

    A. Church is 3 to 4 hours long! =) lol

    Q. What is your favorite meal?

    A. Dolma- Middle Eastern cuisine, various stuffed vegetable dishes, wrapped in grape leaves, stuffed with a lemon-flavored mixture of rice, onion, and frequently ground lamb.

    Q. What is the most common misconception (stereotype) about your culture?

    A. We like to party and are stubborn. Not true, we just like to party! lol

    Korean pride!

    Just saying, but in the answer to “What is your favorite meal”, it’s supposed to be ‘kimchi’, not kimch. I agree, though, kimchi and bulgogi are the best Korean foods! YUM! :]

    It’s true, not all asians (including Koreans) are good at math. I know I’m not!

    It is so awesome to have a club for your ethnicity! Although, I couldn’t join this year due to schedule conflicts with swim team… 🙁
