NWN interviewed senior Pero Jovcic about his Serbian Culture.
Q: What are you most proud of your culture?
A: I’m probably most proud of how religious we are, and how our culture is happy and proud.
Q: What is the your least favorite thing about your culture?
A: I don’t like the politics behind it. How we have bad history for being communists and having a lot of wars and stuff.
Q: What is your favorite meal?
A: Cevapi! It’s kind of like sausage barbecue, or like kabobs.
Q:What is the most important holiday?
A: Easter for sure! Everyone is super religious and everyone celebrates it. It’s definitely the most important.
Q: What is the most common misconception (stereotype) about your culture?
A: Everyone thinks of us as killers. Ask any European. We’re always looked down upon.
