Joaquin Stephenson and the Spanish Honors Society will host a session today after school in the South Lobby at 3:40 to learn a Colombina dance called Cumbaya.
“Students can do something they wouldn’t normally do to get them out of their comfort level, [this will also allow them] to meet people they normally wouldn’t meet, and to get them to do something culturally they wouldn’t know,” sponsor of Spanish Honor Society David Malatesta said.
Stephenson states that it’s important to learn cultural dances.
“I think it’s important for all students to know how to dance and learn cultural dances, besides the dances they do at prom and homecoming. Dancing helps you get out bad situations,” Stephenson stated.
The entrance fee is $1.
