In a close 3-4 match with rival Niles North, the boys varsity tennis team lost a tough battle on Wednesday, May 14.
“We were down [sophomore] Aleksa Tubic due to sickness and had to rearrange our lineup. Aleksa is one of our top players,” said head coach Andrew Suarez. “Not to take anything away from Niles North, they played a great match.”
Though the team as a whole was not victorious, many individual players had successful matches. Junior Jessie Sacks (1 singles), senior Jay Elengical (2 singles) and the duo of Persy Cabal and Dan Weiss(1 doubles) all won their matches in two sets.
The boys will look to make a strong push towards the post season at conference today and tomorrow, both at Maine South.
