The girls varsity basketball team started their season with a bang as they took first place in the Hoffman Estates tournament behind a sizzling 4-1 record.
Junior Nichole Lopatin and seniors Katherine De Lara and Hilma Mededovic were all recognized for their standout play as all-tournament players.
“This was a great way to start the season,” head coach Tony Konsewicz said. “I am proud of the way the girls competed this tournament. We were able to compete and beat some bigger teams than us which was encouraging,” he added, “and winning a championship is always nice.”
Tonight is he girls’ first home game against Glenbrook North in a crossover battle at 7 pm.
